More than a Concert
For the debut of his exciting new concert experience, Morris Hayes could have chosen any city. He chose Detroit.
For Hayes, it was an opportunity to support Crescendo Detroit, invest in the next generation of musicians, and give back to a city that played an important role in Prince's musical journey and his own career.
Over the course of an extraordinary career, Hayes has appeared on countless albums, world tours, music videos, and iconic television appearances, including Prince's legendary Super Bowl XLI halftime show. He's performed with many of the music industry's greatest artists and built an award-winning career as a producer, composer, Music Director, and keyboardist.
Joined by former members of Prince's New Power Generation, acclaimed Detroit musicians, and Crescendo Detroit's talented students, Hayes has brought together an unforgettable evening of exceptional music, personal reflections, and meaningful collaborations that span generations.
What makes this concert unique is its purpose.
Every ticket helps create opportunities for Detroit's young musicians while giving Crescendo students the rare opportunity to learn from and perform alongside world-class artists.
It's a celebration of music, mentorship, and community, giving young people the chance to see what's possible.
This collaboration was intentional
While Morris Hayes brought the accomplished artists he performs with, he also chose to collaborate with some of Detroit's most respected musicians. His vision was to give Crescendo Detroit's students the rare opportunity to learn from and perform alongside artists whose careers have taken them around the world while also experiencing Detroit's rich musical legacy through the exceptional musicians who continue to live, work, and perform in the city. In doing so, he supports Crescendo's mission to help young people discover what's possible, take pride in their city, and realize that remarkable careers can begin right here in Detroit.

Located in Detroit's Dexter-Davison neighborhood, Crescendo Detroit is a nonprofit performing arts program providing exceptional music education, academic support, and mentorship to young people. Built on high standards and a belief in every student's potential, Crescendo helps students develop the confidence, discipline, and character to succeed in school, their careers, and life.
